Ureteral Stents

A ureteric stent (also called a J-J stent or double-J stent) is a thin, flexible hollow plastic tube. The stent is curled at both ends to avoid damaging the kidney and urinary bladder, and to prevent it from dislocating. The top portion of the stent has a curl, and sits in the kidney and the opposite end curls in the bladder.

The stent is placed so that its upper end is in the kidney and its lower end is in the urinary bladder. The stent is flexible enough to withstand various body movements.

 

The ureteral stent is made of Polyurethane (PU) for excellent patient comfort and reduced stent encrustation.
