Description of Alginate Dressing
Alginate Dressing is made of natural fibers derived from seaweed. It is designed to be highly fast absorbent. The alginate has strong absorption and can be absorbed. The amount of exudate is 10-20 times its weight.
After the alginate dressing is in contact with the wound exudate, the alginate fibers will be transformed into a gel-like substance to cover the wound surface, thereby creating a moist healing environment for the wound, preventing eschar formation and accelerating wound healing.
Features of Alginate Dressing
1. It has strong absorption and helps to control mild oozing;
2. Easy to replace, providing an ideal healing environment;
3. Highly compliant, alginate dressings are soft;
4. Minimal fiber residue, all dressings will have varying degrees of fiber debris residue during the application, and the alginate dressing minimizes this residue.
Types of Alginate Dressing
Alginate dressings come in different sizes, such as sheets and strips, which can be flexibly cut and used. Superficial wounds can use sheets, and cavity wounds can use strips.
